NSW Book Publishers respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use this website or send us a manuscript, why we collect it, who sees it and how you can get it corrected or deleted. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
We are NSW Book Publishers (ABN 00 000 000 000), an independent publishing services business based in Sydney, New South Wales. This policy covers https://nswbookpublishers.com and any enquiry you send us through it.

What you give us. When you submit an enquiry or quote form we collect your name, email address, phone number, the services you tick, the package you selected if you came from the packages page, and whatever you write in the message field.
Files you upload. The quote form lets you attach a manuscript or artwork. If you do, we receive that file and store it.
Technical details that come with a submission. Our server records the date and time of the enquiry and the IP address it came from. We keep these to help us spot spam and abuse, not to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for payment card details through this website, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, we do not use cross-site tracking pixels, and we have no accounts, logins or blog comments.
To answer your enquiry, prepare a written quote and, if you go ahead, to deliver the work you have asked for.
To keep in touch about your project while it is running.
To protect the site from spam and abuse, and to keep a record of what was agreed.
We will only use your information for the reason you gave it to us, or for something directly related that you would reasonably expect. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote.
Enquiries go to our own team inbox at info@nswbookpublishers.com and are read by the people who quote and deliver the work.
Your manuscript is shared only with the specialists working on your book — the editor, designer, typesetter, illustrator or narrator assigned to it — and only as far as they need it. They are bound by the same confidentiality obligations we are.
Where a service requires it, we pass on only what that step needs: a printer receives print files, a distributor receives the book metadata, a retailer receives your listing. We will tell you before anything goes to a third party on your behalf.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
We treat unpublished manuscripts as confidential by default. We do not quote from them, show them to anyone outside your project team, or use them as samples.
We will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request, at no charge, before you send us anything.
We will not name your book or show its cover in our portfolio without your agreement, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time in writing.
This site sets one cookie: a PHP session cookie. It exists so the forms can carry a security token that prevents other websites from submitting forms on your behalf. It holds no personal information and expires when you close your browser.
We do not use advertising, profiling or analytics cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to beyond that one functional cookie.
A few things on the site are loaded from other companies, and your browser contacts them directly, which means they can see your IP address:
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Google Maps provides the map embedded on the contact page. jQuery is loaded from a public code CDN. If we enable reCAPTCHA on our forms, Google will also process the signals it uses to tell people from bots.
Clicking our WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp and hands the conversation to them under their own privacy policy.
Each of these companies handles that data under its own terms. We do not control them and we do not share your enquiry details with any of them.
Enquiries and uploaded files are held on our web host in a directory that is blocked from public access, and are copied into our team inbox.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Uploads are limited by type and size, saved under a generated filename rather than the one you sent, and are never made available at a public web address.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. If you would prefer not to send a manuscript through the website, tell us and we will arrange another way.
We are based in Australia and prefer to keep your information here. Some of the third-party services above are operated overseas, so limited technical information such as your IP address may be handled outside Australia.
If your book is distributed internationally, the metadata a retailer needs — title, author name, description, price — will be sent to that retailer in its own country. Your manuscript itself is not.
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back, and are then deleted.
Project files and correspondence are kept for seven years after the work finishes, which is the period Australian tax and business records law expects.
You can ask us to delete an uploaded manuscript sooner and we will, unless we need it for a live project or the law requires us to keep it.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
There is no charge for making a request. We may need to verify who you are before we act on it.
If we cannot do what you have asked, we will explain why in writing.
We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it. Asking for a quote is not the same as opting in.
Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You will still receive messages about a project that is under way.
This site is aimed at authors and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first. Email us with the details and we will investigate and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy as our services change. The version published here is the current one, and the date it was last updated appears at the top of the page.
If we ever make a change that materially affects how we handle information we already hold, we will tell affected clients directly.
